Yummy Human Foods that are Safe and Nutritious for your Doggo!

Fruit

**All fruit should be fed in small amounts due to being a sugary snack which can cause an upset stomach if fed in large amounts**

Saying that, here are some nutritious fruits you can share with your dog;

Raspberries - full of antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties for healthy joints

Pineapple - contains vitamins that help aid digestion and absorption of protein

Apple - great source of vitamins A and C and full of fibre **Be sure to remove the seeds as they are toxic, and the core as it poses a choking hazard**

Banana - high in potassium, vitamins and fibre and a great low calorie snack

Blueberries - high in antioxidants and a great source of fibre

Strawberries - full of vitamin C and fibre

Watermelon - provides vitamins A, B6 and C and is a hydrating snack due to its high water content

Vegetables

Carrots - low calorie, high in fibre and full of vitamin A, also a great crunchy dental chew!

Peas - rich in protein and high in fibre

Green beans - full of vitamins and high in fibre

Broccoli - high in vitamin C and fibre **Should be fed in small amounts due to containing isothiocyanate which can cause gastric irritation**

Pumpkin - full of vitamin A and fibre, good for aiding digestion

Meat

**Never feed cooked bones due to the danger of splintering and steer clear of fat and skin as these are not healthy for your dog! Lean meat is always the best option!**


Chicken & Turkey - great source of protein, high in omega 6 fatty acids for healthy skin and coat

Beef - full of essential fatty acids and vitamins for healthy skin, coat and joints

Lamb - full of iron, protein and anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids

Kangaroo - one of the leanest and healthiest meats, rich in omega 3 and vitamin B

Other yummy items your dog can enjoy

**Do not feed dairy items if your dog is lactose intolerant**

Cheddar, mozzarella, cottage and cream cheese - a tasty treat to be fed in small amounts due to its high fat content

Yoghurt - full of calcium but make sure to choose one with low sugar and no artificial flavourings - plain old yoghurt is always the best option!

Peanut butter - a classic favourite **Be sure there is no Xylitol on the ingredients list - a sugar substitute which is highly toxic to dogs**

Eggs - great healthy snack high in protein, amino and fatty acids
